Pandora Services is looking for Community Support Worker in the Greater Vancouver & surround areas.

Pandora Services is a Community Health Organization dedicated to assisting those who require specialized support such as: personal care, life skills training, companionship, & other personalized assistance to individuals with disabilities, living with mental health challenges, & those in need of specialized support.
Focusing on Person-Centered Care, we offer a holistic approach to gain a more in-depth understanding of the persons served personal needs and to assist in the development of a Personalized Care Plan.
What the job is
Community Support Workers for Pandora will be expected to provide personal, social, emotional and some physical support to the persons served and in some cases, oversee home management tasks. They may also work in collaboration with community outreach programs and health teams. They provide care in the homes of the individuals served or offer assistance & support services to those in need of rehabilitation and their families.
As part of our organization, you will be expected to effectively communicate with the persons served, their families, co-workers, management and any other necessary people within the care team.
You may also be expected to effectively write reports, complete daily charts and maintain proficiency in any other forms of communication physically or digitally.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a Community Support Worker include, but are not limited to, providing companionship, assisting with personal care such as grooming, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting, and feeding, and managing household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping. They ensure living conditions are maintained to keep a hygienic and healthy environment, manage medication, and provide any other necessary support.
In some cases, Community Support Workers may advocate on behalf of the individuals served to ensure they understand their rights regarding legal or financial issues. Your role also includes monitoring the progress of the individuals by observing their daily activities, filing reports to a supervisor or managers, daily charting to properly track medications and behaviours, and conducting evaluations of program effectiveness to recommend improvements.
It is important for support workers to understand that each individual served has specific needs based on their unique situation. All Pandora staff will receive adequate training tailored to the individual and will be able to apply their skills to the personalized care plan. Pandora staff are also expected to communicate effectively with management for any additional education or training if needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Ideal candidates will have good communication, time-management, organizational, interpersonal & strong technological skills.
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent Required
- Valid Level 1 First Aid & CPR Level C Required
- Criminal Record Check Required
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle Required
- Previous experience in a support role within Disability & Mental Health Services, or a related field Preferred
- NVCI or MANDT training Preferred

Compensation
$22.50 - $27.00 per hour
